Aislin and Justin Dyer

Aislin Dyer has been blessed to be surrounded by strong, faithful women all her life as a daughter, sister, and mother. She is married to Justin Dyer, the world's greatest listener for this chatterbox. They are the parents of six children. Aislin has a degree in English and is a storyteller and dramaturg working at the Springville Public Library and on various theatre productions at BYU. She loves to hike, cook, attend plays, read aloud with her loved ones, and volunteer at local schools as a "drama mama." Her particular brand of happiness is watching children of God learn and connect to people and principles through stories.

Justin Dyer is a Professor of Religious Education at Brigham Young University. He received his Ph.D. in human and community development from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Auburn University. He teaches classes on religion and family as well as graduate statistics. He has conducted research on incarcerated fathers and their families and he currently researches how religion, family, and mental health influence each other. He is particularly interested in Latter-day Saint mental health and how being LGBTQ+ and a Latter-day Saint influences mental health. He has published over 70 academic studies. His research has won several awards including BYU’s Young Scholar Award. He holds the college of Religious Education’s Moral Education Professorship and is a Fellow with the Wheatley Institute at BYU. He loves to read with his children, play complex board games, chat with his six sisters, and spend time with Aislin, who infuses his life with adventure.
